Toronto 3D Global Sports program have recently kick-started a new venture that will researches and acknowledges the top performing Canadian Basketball Player of the Week.

The first inaugural 3D CDN Player of the Week is none other than 6'7 Forward Dani Elgadi of the Brock Badgers University. Upon his arrival at Brock University, Elgadi has been a force to be reckoned with. He finished his rookie campaign by winning the OUA Rookie of the year award, and he has made several all-star appearances. Some athletes slow down after reaching the top, but Elgadi has certainly managed to hold on to his position.

"I've established something here at Brock that I will carry with me for my entire life and I will continue to build on that as long as I'm still here wearing a badgers uniform. Now Brock is a nationally ranked top 5 team, we are in a place where we want to win and that's all."

As the 2016-2017 CIS Basketball season unfolded a couple of weeks ago, Brock Badgers played two games last week beating McMaster 72-71, with clutch performances down the stretch both offensively and defensively by Elgadi, who finished the game with 20 points and 12 rebounds. He continued his dominant performance a few days later as he led the Badgers to a 86-75 victory over the Guelph Gryphons where he finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds. He became only the 6th player in the school's history to record 1000 rebounds, as well as attain the 1800 career point mark leaving him only 53 points behind Allen MacDougall who is 8th all-time.

When I heard I was 6th all time in Brock history to accumulate 1009 Rebounds as well as 8th in scoring coming up around the corner with 1800+.. it made me realize just how long I've been at Brock and how hard I've worked to get to this point. I've stayed committed to the process and trusted in my program. Im thankful for the opportunities that were given to me and I want to take full advantage of them.”

After having put together one of the top single season performances during the 2015-2016 season for Brock university, he was named a CIS First-Team All Canadian. He Finished last year with the 3rd highest point total in the school's history with 740 season points, 383 rebounds and 283 field goal- the second highest in the school's history-and 20 double doubles. Heading into the 2016-17 season, it clear Dani Elgadi is surfacing superstar status.

3D took the time to ask Elgadi to reflect about his performances and his milestone:

“Reflecting on my performances- As a team we are enjoying the process of getting better each game. We see a lot of room for improvement and that keeps us motivated. By no means are we a finished product. We have so much talent but we're creating an identity of a great defensive team early on in the season.

Individually I just have to play my role and do what I'm best at in order for us to win. Coach gives us a game plan for each game and we just have to go out and execute. As a leader I have to make sure that as a team we go out and follow the plan coach has for us and we'll be in good shape. We mentally prepare the week prior and go to war in practice so that we're focused and sharp when we step on the court."

Good luck to Dani and the Brock Basketball Program for the rest of the season.
