Canada welcomed back vs Taipei B Team

The Quest for Red Glory Canada team played their first game in the 40th William Jones Cup vs. Taiwan National B Team White (ROC B). The defending champions 3D Global Sports Canada were welcomed in front of a Taiwanese home crowd of 4,500+ loud and energetic fans. 3D Global Sports represented their country well by winning their first game of the tournament - 83:73 (Box Score) (Highlights).

This was the first game the defending champions 3D Canada team played together this year. 3D struggled to find rhythm at the start, playing hard to try and get a safe lead. The crowd was loud and cheering in dire support for their home Taiwanese team. 3D clearly needed to get used to the visiting court, environment and jet-lag as they shot under 20% from the 3-point line, missing a number of shots during the game.

The score was close throughout the game with 3D Canada leading by a few possessions. Taipei National B team were trading buckets with some of Canada’s best underrated players, 6’11 Keanau Post (Former NBA G-League Raptor 905), Terry Thomas, Connor Wood and Shaquille Keith whom play in the National Basketball League of Canada.

Returning big-man and team captain, Michale Kyser finished the game with a double-double 11 points, 11 rebounds, but and 4 blocks! Logan Stutz, former NBL-Canada MVP, finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds. It seemed as if very few buckets were falling for Terry Thomas, however he still finished the game with 15 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds.

It was Alex Campbell (3D team 2016 China MVP) who controlled the ball at point gaurd and hit the dagger to seal the win for 3D Canada’s first game of the 40th William Jones Cup.
