3D and Manifesto Festival present the Toronto City Ball Out

On August 17, 3D Global Sports (3D) took over Toronto City Hall for the inaugural Toronto City Ball Out, which consisted of a 3 x 3 Basketball Tournament (men and women division) and Dunk Competition. The event was in partnership with Manifesto Festival, a non-profit, youth-powered platform that puts local artists on the map and unites, inspires and empowers young people through arts & culture.

3D organized and ran the 3 x 3 Tournament and Dunk Competition, which took place on an outdoor basketball-court right in Nathan Phillips Square. The tournament and dunk competition took place from 12 to 5 PM, right before a packed downtown city environment gathered to watch the festival headlined by Chronixx x Charlotte Day Wilson, featuring Akala Birthday Boy x Trish and other amazing artists!

Despite challenging weather conditions, which saw scattered rain throughout parts of the day, 3D managed to kick-off an incredible outdoor basketball event highlighted by elite competition in both women’s and men’s divisions.

Winners of the women's division

The tournament brought teams of talented Toronto alumni from the women’s division as “Ken She?” was crowned victorious, defeating the Sheridan College squad, in the finals. Taking home the cash prize of the Manifesto’s women’s division was Captain Keneca Pingue-Giles, Toronto women’s legend and Ryerson University (U-Sports) All-Canadian star. Jill Stratton (ex-University of Toronto star, who played in Germany last year) also participated in the women's tournament as she showcased her skills for the winning team.
