With the NBA season currently starting back up, basketball fans have been quietly anticipating the storm. Aside from the NBA, the next most awaited basketball season to take place is NCAA College hoops. This year the NCAA will feature more Canadian talent where the world will get to foresee the north of the border’s full potential. Toronto3D has been determined with a laser-focused vision on helping harness and develop the success of Canadian talented players, which in other positions, may not encounter such opportunities.
On the November 7th and 8th weekend, the Toronto3D will be making ‘moves’ to the States taking on two NCAA DII teams: Mercyhurst University Lakers and Lake Erie College Storm. This will be the first encounter for the 3D program with the NCAA. Last year, Mercyhurst Lakers (20-8) lost to Fairmont State in the NCAA March Madness Tournament and are still officialy ranked 4th in the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Standings. The Team also recently traveled to Canada and went 3-1 against CIS Universities: Brock, Laurier, Guelph, and Western.
The Toronto 3D platoon is no stranger to the NCAA season, it’s tournament and the high basketball level of competition. The team carries a vast amount of NCAA DI experience with Big man 7’0 Zach Nagztaam (Ohio University), Guard Tramar Sutherland (University of Arkansas-Little Rock), Small Forward Jon House (Belmont University), and Small Forward Tshing Kasamba (Chicago State University). Toronto3D will be tested by both Mercyhurst University and Lake Erie College Basketball Programs as they continue to prepare for upcoming world trips.
